List for the Weekend

  1. Snuggle up with George (my parent's dog whom i'm "puppy-sitting" tonight through Sunday)
  2. Clean out closet (maybe I will jump on the badwagon with this whole blog-baying thing :))
  3. Get some sun!
  4. Go for a few long walks along the beach with George
  5. Organize things for work
  6. Sew (?)
  7. Prep for Kevin's birthday on Tuesday
  8. Sleep, sleep, sleep!!

These past few weeks have been absolutely insane at work. Since I work in the education field, the release of all this stimulus money has thrown people into a tizzy around here. Kevin will be away this weekend at a bachelor so I am looking forward to having some downtime alone (and with George of course!) I hope that you all have a fun weekend full of plans as well!

Thursday Ramblings

Well, today marks my official 2 year anniversary with my company. Looking back, its hard to believe that i've already been here for two years. I've grown up a lot and my life has changed immensely during this time. Cheers to (hopefully) another great year! (And earning two more days vacation!!!)

Speaking of work, I opened my email account this morning to a forward from a coworker that I just had to share with you all. As I'm sure many of you have heard, the weather in New England has been horrible this summer. It feels like we've only seen the sun a handful of times. Its the middle of July and not even 70 degrees out. Yuck. Today we actually can see some blue skies, but it doesn't make up for the past two months of dreariness. That being said, this story is very fitting:

A curious fellow died one day and found himself waiting in the long line of judgment.

As he stood there he noticed that some souls were allowed to march right through the pearly gates into Heaven.
Others though, were led over to Satan who threw them into the burning pit.
But every so often, instead of hurling a poor soul into the fire, Satan would toss a soul off to one side into a small pile.
Watching Satan do this several times, the fellow's curiosity got the best of him.

So he strolled over and asked Satan what he was doing.

"Excuse me, Mr. Prince of Darkness," he said. "I'm waiting in line for judgment, but I couldn't help wondering, why are you tossing those people aside instead of flinging them into the Fires of Hell with the others?"

"Ah, those," Satan said with a groan. "They're all from New England ...
They're still too wet to burn."

Happy Thursday ladies...one day closer to the weekend!

Sunshine! Finally!

I hope that everyone had an amazing holiday weekend! We hosted our first bbq at our new apartment and it went perfectly! We had about 10 people come up on Friday and stay through the weekend. The guys went golfing on Friday while us ladies drank mojitos by the pool. On Saturday we all headed to the beach in the morning and then set up/enjoyed the bbq in the afternoon. We had about 25 or so people over on Saturday so it was a full house. Luckily we only experienced a few rain drops so people were able to enjoy being outside. Yesterday we all headed to the beach in the morning and soaked in as much vitamin D as possible! I love being able to spend our time off with the ones we love.

I was honestly ready to play hooky today because it's gorgeous out once again- but unfortunately I am here in my cubicle (as usual). Back to the daily grind! I hope that you all enjoyed your weekends as well.

Happy Monday!
