First Day!

I got absolutely no sleep last night whatsoever. I felt like a little kid the night before the first day of school! Things have been going great so far today. Everything is coming at me pretty quickly, but I'm sure that I will soon get into the routine of things and feel quite at home. On friday a few of the people that I work with in other departments brought me a cake that said "we'll miss you" on it. It was the nicest gesture! Everyone has been so supportive of my move to marketing, that I know I made the right decision.

I just got back from being taken out to lunch by my boss, and two other heads of marketing. We went to a great little Indian restaurant. I have a lot going on today and I need to get back to things, but I'll make sure to post more later!!

Happy Monday Everyone!

Friday Freebie

Hey Ladies! Monogram Chick is giving away the cutest bag (see above)! Make sure to check out her blog!!

Finally Friday!!

Happy Friday Everyone! I am blogging on my brand new laptop right now! One of the perks of my new job! I met with my soon to be new boss today to go over a few things (sort of an orientation) before I start on Monday. If it's at all possible, I'm even more excited about the position now than I was before!

Thank you to everyone that responded to my last post. You're words of wisdom were amazing and exactly what I needed to hear. Last night I had a pretty big blow out with Kevin on the phone and was so upset afterwards. Today we've emailed back and forth and have both said that we hating fighting with one another and really want to try and work things out this weekend. We've made plans to hang out both tonight and tomorrow night, so I hope that we will be able to resolve everything. Even though I have never met any of you readers in person, hearing your kind words makes me feel like I actually know you. It's awful that we all live so far apart, because I would totes want to hang out with all of you!

I hope that you all have an amazing weekend enjoying this fabulous fall weather!

Cheers!

ramblings

There is no inspiration for this post, so please bare with me. It's a beautiful Thursday and the weekend is in sight. Last night was my first rehearsal for the piece that I am choreographing for the dance company I am in. It was fun to actually start getting into the piece with the other girls. The song is lollipop by mika. It's really fun, cute, and a little naughty at the same time. A great combo! Sometimes its fun to not be the good/sweet girl and step out of your element. The group is really starting to get serious about putting together our show and I'm looking forward to seeing it all come together.

Growing up is hard. I feel like I have always pictured my adult life in a certain way and as I become more independent I'm realizing that nothing is ever how I expected it would be. I've discovered that things change on a daily basis and that there really is no ultimate goal- bc once you've reached it, life still goes and the next day always comes. I know that communication in my relationship with others has never been my strong point. Things have been struggling with Kevin lately and I'm really at a loss for words. I'm hoping that day by day things will get better, but I also don't want to feel like I am the only one working at it. Have any of you ever been in a long-term relationship where you know that your not really happy with where things are, but you can't imagine letting that person go? But you also know that you don't want to keep going if the relationship really isn't meant to be? I just know that I don't want to be one of those people who put years & years into a relationship only to still have it crumble. I mean let's face it, I'm not getting any younger! I know I'm only 22, but I'm post college faze and am afraid that if things don't work out with Kevin that I'm never going to find anyone else. I think I'm possibly the youngest person at my company and I'm not meeting any hotties on the mat next to me in yoga.

I know that I have asked for a lot of feedback and advice from you all this week, but I need more. I like to use this blog to get different perspectives and feedback from people other than in my daily life.

Thanks Ladies

Hump Day

Happy hump day everyone! Almost through the work week! Although things at work will be slow for the next few days, my extracurricular activities will be doing double time. Sadly I won't be able to see Kevin until Saturday night, but absence does make the heart grow fonder right?

I stumbled across this diet online called the "three-day diet". After reading it over it seemed reasonable and not at all difficult. It encorporates a lot of the foods that I eat anyways so I've decided to give it a whirl. Everyone needs a good flush and restart to their metabolism. Since next week will begin a new chapter in my life, i decided why not start it a few pounds slimmer?!

Has anyone else ever tried this before? If so, I would love your feedback on what you thought of it!

another monday

Another Monday....how is that possible?! This past weekend absolutely flew by. Apparantly it did not get the memo that I needed it to last as long as it could. How rude! The upside to this though, is that it will be the last Monday that I will be in my current position. Next week at this time I will be up in the Marketing department...
Speaking of which, I would like to extend a few questions for you readers: I am looking at this new position as a new and fresh start in my life. I went through some ups and downs this summer and am looking forward to this new start. That being said, I also want my workspace to have a new look and feel as well. I don't want to just box up the same pictures and such that I look at everyday now and just reset them all up at my new desk. I am looking for some fun, creative, and preppy ideas for my workspace. How do you make your desk look unique in a sea full of cubicles? How do you make your desk scream personality and intrigue those who stop by? I am looking for ideas for the ultimate cubicle facelift. I mean, I do spend most of my week at this desk and I want it to feel/look as "me" as possible.
I don't know if many people actually do read this, but I love hearing from those of you that I know do.
Good luck this week everyone in all that you do!

George!

back in action!

Its funny how when you finally decide to make a change in your life, you begin to wonder why it took you so long to make it in the first place. Now that my new position has been announced to the company I have had numerous people coming up to me saying how they are so happy for me and that this was a long time coming. Apparantly I am not the only one who knew that I was unhappy in my current position. I thought that everyone else thought that my bosses were great, only to find out that everyone else was clued into the how insane they are as well. I am taking this new start to begin a new chapter in my life. I am extremely excited to finally be taken seriously. I know that I will have a lot to offer the position and also know that my new boss is looking forward to that. Now if only the 22nd would finally get here already!
As I'm sure the rest of you have noticed, fall had definitely arrived. Although summertime is my most favorite season of the year, I really do enjoy the crisp days of fall. I am going to take this weekend to switch over my wardrobe. Even though I know all of the clothes are the same ones that I wore last fall/winter, it always feels like I just went shopping when I switch my clothes over each season. Don't you just love that?! Fall fashion is so cute this year, I can't wait to start shopping!
I just got a call from my mom asking if I could go home and hang out with our puppy George for a few hours tonight because both my Mom and Dad won't be home. So I suggested that I just take hime for the night. I'm so excited!! I think that that was the hardest part about moving out, was missing George. He is a yellow lab mix and is the cutest thing in the entire world. He was a rescue puppy from Louisiana so we don't know what he is mixed with. He looks like a yellow lab, just about 5 sizes too small. He's like a mini-lab! I'm so excited!
Enjoy the first fall weekend of the year!

it's a new dawn, it's a new day

This past weekend was really fun, my friend Gretchen turned 21 and we had an absolute BLAST taking her out lol. Her first legal drink!!

Out to dinner

Then it proceeded to absolutely POUR... this was on the way to the bar lol. The hat was from the restaurant hahaa

The bar was only about a 2 blocks from the restaurant, but we were soaked by the time we got there! This was me in the bathroom trying to dry off hahaha (after a few margaritas, can't you tell?)

On another note, GREAT NEWS: I got a job in the marketing dept at my company! I'm soooooo excited! As you all know I've been going through a lot of up and downs with my job over the past few months so this could not have come at a better time. I start two weeks from yesterday. Woohooo!!!

Happy Friday!

Hellooooo Weekend!!!!

This week has been an absolute circus at work. We had our clients from Utah visiting all week, and it felt like I was running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. Thankfully they left this morning so I can begin to ease into the weekend. Tomorrow one of my very good friends turns 21 and I am so excited to take her out. This weekend should definitely be filled with some good stories to share with you all (as well as some good pics) on Monday!

Talk to you then!

worst blogger ever!!!

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!!!

I don't think that I can apologize enough ladies for my complete lack of existence in blogland. Things have been absolutely crazy trying to wrap up the summer (can you believe it's already September????) but hopefully things will settle down a bit this fall so I can get back into a regular routine.

Things are crazy with work this week and hopefully (keep your fingers crossed!) I will be hearing about another position in the company that I interviewed for last week. I spent this weekend on Martha's Vineyard with my bff and it was possibly the best weekend of my life. From perfect beach days to hilarious nights out on the town, it was an amazing note to end the summer on. I was very sad on the ferry ride back last night, but there is a possibility that I might be returning this weekend :). Hopefully this short week will go by quickly!

Happy Monday everyone!
